The Swedish and English versions of the Meds75+ database have been updated

The Meds75+ database contains a classification and recommendation Finnish, Swedish and English on the use of nearly 500 medicinal substances or combinations thereof in the treatment of older adults. The Swedish and English user versions of the database have been updated during the spring to better correspond to medical terminology. The translations have been updated by a translator specialised in medical translations.

The Meds75+ database is available through Fimea's medicine search. The database contains open data produced by Fimea that supports clinical decision-making on pharmacotherapy for people aged 75 years or over and improves medication safety in primary health care. The upgrading of user versions will enable a wider use of the database internationally, which will support the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) strategy to improve access to information that promotes medication safety. Outside Finland, the Meds75+ database has already been introduced in the Medicinal Product Register of Latvia, and information has been sent to the Central Norway Patient Information System.
