International and EU cooperation
The European Commission and the agencies operating under it support research, development and innovation (RDI) activities in the Member States by offering a wide range of different forms of project funding in accordance with EU policy objectives. Funding may also be granted for the development of public administration and official functions. Key funding programmes include the Horizon Europe, EU4Health and TSI programmes.
Fimea has actively utilised this opportunity and has succeeded in increasing the size of its EU project portfolio. In EU projects, Fimea strives to harmonise its operating processes and coordinate information systems with other Member States’ medicines agencies. Another aim is to develop supervision, reporting and cooperation networks in the pharmaceutical sector.
Fimea’s virtual project office manages the organisation’s EU project portfolio and coordinates EU project activities across areas of responsibility within the organisation. Fimea currently participates in the following ongoing EU projects.
