National pharmacopoeia documents
National pharmacopoeia decisions and other pharmacopoeia documents and their supplements are implemented in Finland by decisions of the Finnish Medicines Agency.
The List of monographs
The List of monographs contains all monographs implemented in Finland. The monographs are presented in English alphabetical order. The second column gives their titles in Latin, while the third and fourth columns give the official Finnish and Swedish titles.
Titles for Homoeopathic preparations are presented in English alphabetical order at the end of the List of monographs. From second to fourth column the official titles are given in Latin, Finnish and Swedish. The fifth column gives the unofficial common name in Finnish and Swedish.
The list is updated three times per year. Recently added and changed monograph names are marked with blue background.
Pharmaceutical dosage forms
Names of the monographs on pharmaceutical dosage forms in English, Latin, Finnish and Swedish are shown in the table. Monographs on dosage forms together with complete definitions can be found from European Pharmacopoeia chapter "Dosage forms".
The table is updated when necessary. Implementation date can be found from the first page of the table. Recently added and changed monograph names on pharmaceutical dosage forms are marked with blue background.
Standard terms
The pharmaceutical dosage form, route of administration and packaging must be stated using the standard terms approved by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission. The terms are defined in English, and their official translations exist in the languages of the Member States.
All approved standard terms and their definitions and translations can be found in the Standard Terms database maintained by EDQM (EDQM- Standard Terms database).The database requires a registration, but is open and free for all users. The registration takes place on the EDQM website (EDQM – Standard Terms, registration).
