Substances of human origin as starting materials for medicines

A variety of medicinal products can be manufactured from substances of human origin. For example, coagulation factors isolated from plasma and immunoglobulins already have an established therapeutic status. In addition, plasma and serum have also been used in other medicine applications. The collection of substances of human origin as starting material for medicines requires a licence granted by Fimea. For these products, it should be noted that any adverse reactions should be reported as medicine’s adverse reactions to Fimea.
