There’s still time to sign up for the information session for marketing authorisation holders on 30 October

Fimea will organise a virtual information session on 30 October 2025 from 10 am to 11 am for marketing authorisation holders concerning the introduction of the medicine safety information symbol.

Fimea recommends adding the symbol to additional risk minimisation materials and direct healthcare professional communications (DHPCs) intended for healthcare professionals.

The new symbol is being introduced to make it easier for healthcare professionals to distinguish additional risk minimisation materials and DHPCs from other materials produced by marketing authorisation holders.

The symbol is being introduced gradually and will be added to guides for risk minimisation for physicians and other materials as they are updated and prepared. Fimea will update the guidelines on the preparation of additional risk minimisation materials.

Additional risk minimisation materials and DHPCs are part of the risk management of medicines, and they are intended to reduce the risks associated with the use of medicines and to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Sign up for the information session

The information session will be held online on 30 October 2025 from 10 am to 11 am, explaining Fimea’s updated instructions and presenting the new symbol. The session will be held in Finnish with English live captions. The session will not be recorded.
