Meeting on veterinary medicinal products discussed issues arising from the new Regulation
Between 25 and 27 September 2019 in Porvoo, the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea hosted a meeting on veterinary medicinal products organised as part of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Two committees, the Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP) and the Coordination Group for Mutual Recognition and Decentralised Procedures - Veterinary (CMDv), convened in the meeting.
Issues arising especially from the new Regulation on veterinary medicinal products (2019/6) were discussed in the meetings.
The CVMP’s meeting agenda included matters such as marketing authorisations for limited markets, the scope of centralised marketing authorisations and the environmental risk assessment of veterinary medicinal products. The CMDv’s agenda included variations, marketing authorisation processes and SPC harmonisation, i.e. the harmonisation of the summary of product characteristics.
The conclusions to be drawn up from these discussions will be processed during November.
