The 2025 Medicines Day focuses on sustainable and responsible use of medicines

The Medicines Day is a national theme day for medicine users and social and health care professionals alike. Events of the theme day are organised during week 11. 

The goal of the day is to encourage users of medicines to ask questions and talk about their medicines and their own pharmaceutical treatment. The theme of the 2025 Medicines Day is ‘Sustainable and responsible use of medicines’.

Would you like to contribute to the Medicines Day?

We encourage organisations to organise their own local events across Finland. Organisations may include, for example, private pharmacies, patient organisations, social and health care professionals, as well as students and educational institutions in the field. Organising an event together with several local organisations lessens the workload and increases the visibility of the day.

All organisations can use and disseminate the materials jointly produced for the Medicines Day. The materials can be downloaded from the Medicines Day website. 

Two slogans, ‘Your choice matters – the appropriate use of medicines also helps save the environment’ and ’Responsible medicinal treatment matters every day‘, are also used in the communications about the day. In social media, content and posts can be shared with the hashtags #lääkehoidonpäivä and #tunnelääkkeesi.

The nationwide main event of the Medicines Day is the webinar titled ‘Your choice matters – the appropriate use of medicines also helps save the environment’, which will be held on Thursday 13 March 2025 between 13:00 and 15:15. Add this date to your calendar now to make sure you won’t miss it!

The Planning Team of the National Medicines Information Network is responsible for the annual theme and planning of the Medicines Day.
