Fimea organises a Horizon Scanning event for pharmaceutical companies in December

At the event, pharmaceutical companies can present new medicines intended for hospital use to Fimea's HTA division. Fimea hopes that the event will primarily be attended by companies that are waiting for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to give a favourable opinion during 2024 on a new product intended for hospital use or on a significant extension of the indication of use for a product already on the market.

Companies interested in the event are asked to register by email (hta(at)fimea.fi) by November 24, 2023. When registering, they should provide a provisional list of people participating in the consultation and send a short preliminary description of the products to be presented.

The event will primarily take place on Wednesday 13 December 2023. Depending on the number of registrations and participation opportunities, participation can be organised on Thursday 14 December 2023 instead of Wednesday. Fimea reserves the right to limit the number of companies participating in the event. A more precise company-specific time will be announced later to the companies participating in the event.

Participants are welcome to attend the event at Fimea's Helsinki offices (Mannerheimintie 166) or remotely. The virtual meeting program used by Fimea is MS Teams. If the presenter prefers to use another program, this must be mentioned when registering. In this case, the presenting company will take responsibility of the virtual meeting arrangements. The presentations will take a maximum of 20 minutes per company. The presentation and materials can be either in Finnish or English.
